Kayaker takes to the water at Storm Haven

Sea kayaking is good in the area as well. Kayakers put in north of Cyprus Lake, and can paddle to Storm Haven or High Dump in the space of a weekend.

One Memorial Day weekend, I witnessed a group of 20+ kayakers at the new camp at Storm Haven. They were like seagulls, covering the beach with their colorful hulls and gear. Part of an annual school trip, they were learning navigational skills and how to treat the environment with respect.
