Getting close to Mosquito Beach, I spotted this lone glacial erratic on the beach. As the trail spends most of its time on top of the hundred foot cliffs, it was an opportunity to get up close and personal with the water's edge.

At Mosquito Beach, we turned inland to visit Mosquito Falls, and head for the trailhead at Chapel Beach. Saw three local hikers and a dog at Mosquito Beach trail cutoff, who told us that they had occasionally seen moose and numerous bear scat in the woods around the Falls. We saw no scat on the main trail, but the Falls were pleasant cascades, several of them in a line along Mosquito Creek.
